Ford Agrees to install a new engine in my 2011 Lincoln MKX

We are still playing bring the car back for repairs. The Sync Radio is still locking up. No GPS, NO Heat, No av controls. I am getting so tired of this bull shit. I HATE FORD Motor Company.

The wind noise is the car is so loud on the freeway you can not use the Bluetooth phone. I have water leaking in the drivers side window or roof area when it rains. How much bull shit does FORD want me to deal with before I drive it through the Ford Financing Managers window?

I am so sorry I sold my Cadillac's and purchased Lincoln's. I am going to make a decision very soon to trade back into Cadillac or just give it back to Ford and purchase two new Caddy. A CTS for my wife and a Escalade for me.

I miss my Escalade EXT pick up.

We still have issues with the Sync Radio/GPS system. It locks up , when this happens you have no radio control, no heat or A/C control and No GPS system.  I have to disconnect the Battery and wait 15 to 30 minutes and reconnect the car battery. This forces the system into maintenance mode. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes and does correct the problems for about 5 or so days. What a pain in the ass this is.

10/3/2011

Today was just another day with this Lincoln MKX.  The day started out with a flat tire.

Then around noon today the Sync Radio locked up and now I have NO Heat.  The A/C/Heater, Radio/Phone and GPS all run via the Sync Radio.  I have been trying all day to get the radio to reboot and do a Diagnostic Boot.   No luck. I have to bring in the car again for repair.

“This car has more repair garage miles on it than road miles.”

Cortese finished the Motor replacement. I have to say they did a nice job. I got the car back

10/1/2011

I got the car back with the new engine today. I am happy to say it runs pretty good and NO engine noise

9/22/2011

The new engine has arrived at Cortese Lincoln today  They pulled the old engine out and will be installing the new engine some time tomorrow. I might get this Lincoln AKA pice of shit back by Monday I am guessing.

I am setting up a Picture Gallery to watch the progress of the engine replacement.

9/21/2011

After installing a new left side "Cylinder Head" a new left side camshaft. That Failed. Ford made some  modifications to the cam shaft end cap. That Failed.

5 Months of screaming, yelling, feet stomping and name calling on both sides.

After going to arbitration and I lost because the comatose BBB Arbitrator "Ira David" did not believe I had a problem. Ford has now agreed to install a NEW Engine

9/14/2011

My service writer from Cortese Lincoln called me and said they did verify my concerns about my engine knocking when first started cold. He told me that his Engineer has a call into FORD's Engineer who did the modification to my engine in Las Vegas. I can't wait for the results to this phone call. I have a lot of trust in Cortest Lincoln so far. They call with updates every step of the way. The service writers at Cortese Lincoln are very professional.

9/13/2011

The Lincoln is now at Cortese Lincoln in Rochester. They seem to be real nice people.

I gave them a short history of the my car and dealings with Ford. I brought the car in for an engine knock when first started up cold. and The Sync Radio is locking up when I try to use the GPS. I have tried to use the GPS and the Sync Radio system locks up.  No Radio, NO A/C controls, NO GPS, NO Bluetooth for my phone.  DEAD in the water. All the features you want in a luxury car to work. New York State will issue you a ticket for using a hand held cell phone while driving. I live on my bluetooth.

8/23/2011

I have no choice at this point but spend the money for a personal attorney.  Ford Motor Company has NO compassion for it's customers. I now have to start a cival Lawsuit against Ford Motor Company. All I want is a car with an engine that does NOT knock!. I do not think I am asking to much. Attorney Paul Aloi will be on the case.

"Frasca Vs Ford Motor Company"

8/7/2011

We are now in Rochester NY and still have major problems with this Lincoln.

Engine knock issue is still NOT resolved.

We now have a transmission problem.

We also have a radio problem, via the radio the GPS, AC and some other options are programed. The GPS locks up and everything goes out. No radio, No GPS and NO temp control. This has happened over 10 times. We drove to NY with NO GPS, NO radio and NO temp control and it was 90's that week!  ( 7 hour drive)

How much more does FORD want me to put up with! I am about 30 seconds away of calling it a day and giving the car back to Ford. I will have to let them sue me for a  voluntary repossession. This sucks to be in this position. I buy a nice car for 60K and get stuck with a lemon and nobody cares!.

I should have stayed with Cadillac and said who cares if Ford took stimulus money or not.

In this letter I would like to restate my current issue with my vehicle and the Ford Motor Company. As I previously stated, I am not able to produce a new Video Recording at this time due to the increase of the temperature here in Las Vegas since the start of my problem. The current temperature in Nevada at 6 Am is already in the mid 90’s, thus making the engine oil thin and close to operating temperature.

The knock in the engine started when I purchased this new vehicle. The temperature at the time of purchase was in the 50’s. The knocking, as stated in all of my complaints, occurs when the vehicle is cold started.
When I agreed to allow Ford’s licensed and factory trained mechanic from Michigan make engine modification to my new $60,000.00 Lincoln, Ron Collins and I walked out to my car, started the car and it started knocking right away. The modification failed.  This WAS witnessed and verified by Ron Collins, Findlay Lincoln’s service writer. When we looked at each other, I said “now what.”  Ron said he would meet with the shop supervisor, Claude Chiles, and let me know the next step. I never received a telephone call. I understand now that Ron had quit his job or was fired, I really don’t know which one.
At the time of the hearing I had not yet received an answer from Findlay Lincoln.  As a customer, I feel that the shop supervisor, Claude Chiles, failed to communicate the problem with my vehicle to the service writers. As a customer I should not be the one suffering due to a lack of communication between employees.
In response to Linda’s from Ford, statement I did not qualify by not bringing the vehicle several times.  We did not have to return, when I picked UP the car the noise was STILL there the Ford Modification FAILED and service writer Ron Collins Witnessed it!
Shop supervisor, Claude Chiles, called Ron Collins the service writer, per my request and was on speaker phone when in fact, Ron Collins said “YES the knock was still there.”
The constant knocking of this cam shaft will come to an end sooner or later! This is due to lack of proper oil lubrication and is wearing on the metal parts. We will have metal fatigue and this engine will come apart.
It is very unnerving that I am forced to ship my new $60,000.00 2011 Lincoln back to NY by truck because I am afraid to drive across country for fear of it breaking down in a desolate town at night driving across country. I have to incur a $1,200.00 shipping bill to get my vehicle home.
I am embarrassed to start the car in a parking garage when the engine is cold because people look in my direction to see what is wrong with my vehicle. I am sure Ford is not losing any sleep over me or my $60,000.00 problem. I can assure you that if it was a friend or family member of someone at Ford, this vehicle would be replaced.
What is going to happen when I am in NY now and 3 months out of the year the temperature reaches -10 below zero and another 5 months around 50 degrees?
Ford is basing this whole Arbitration on a current video I could not provide as proof because they know the current temperatures are in the high 90 and low 100’s now.
Nathan Findley owner Findley Lincoln Mercury will verify he had communication problems Within his company.

I purchased TWO new 2011 Lincolns and I am treated like a criminal. I do not understand why Ford will not work with me on this matter.  I just want a vehicle with NO engine knock like you or anybody else would want.

New Updated 6/22/2011

I went to Arbination yesterday. I though I was prepaired with my papers I was wrong.

I never looked at the Repair order I got from Findlay Lincoln after Ford made there modification to my engine.  Ford then called Findlay and had Claude e-mail his statement. Claude said he and the Ford Mechanic started the vehicle after the modification was completed and there was no noise. That statement sealed my fate to be denied.

I watch Service Writer  Ron Collins write on the repair order that he witness the enging knock was STILL there.  When I went to the arbination meeting it was not on the ticket.

I went down to FIndlay Lincoln and talked with the Owner Nathen Findley and Service Manager Claude Chiles about this. I let them know I watched Ron type this information

on the invoice.

Claude then called Ron and Ron Verified he DID witness the knock in my enging after the modification was completed and did write this on the repair order. He said he wrote this information under a section called RO. come to find out this section of notes does NOT print out on the customer copy of the ticket.

New Update!

Update 6/14/2011

I have a Arbination date set for June 21st at 10am. I guess we will see

if FORD has a heart or if the BBB will make them Buy the Lincoln back.

I had to sign a form that I will not bash, attack, use foul language

during the Arbination.

Update 6/7/2011

I just talked with the BBB Autoline Arbitrator. He said FORD Refused to do anything for me at this time. We are now scheduling an Arbination meeting with FORD to make a final decision of " Buy Back" " Crush The Car" " Fix The Car" by force of the BBB Autoline Arbitrator.  I choose ' Crush the freeken Car with a FORD Representative in the vehicle. Thats my Wish at this point!.

Update 5/20/2011

We have a new problem with the Lincoln now. The Transmission is not shifting right. When I go down a hill or downgrade, the transmission decides to do the breaking for me. It also wants to hold back at slow speeds. This is annoying and causing my fuel economy to go to shit!  I am so tired of this car.

I have not heard anything from the BBB at this point in time I am hoping they make a buy back decision I do not want this car anymore. I would settle for a loaded Ford F150 Platinum edition otherwise buy this MKX back and call it a day.

The sad part of this whole thing is I used to Love Ford, I always and ONLY bought Ford Trucks. The was Ford is treating me at this point I dont care if Ford goes Chapter 7 or not. I have noticed that when you buy a Ford you are the hero of that moment. When you have a problem they say Steve who ? and run the other way!

Update 5/21/2011

I was called to pick up my Lincoln from Findlay Lincoln Mercury. The repairs were completed. They replaced or modified the camshaft end cap. The Ford Motor Company Mechanic cut groves into the end cap to allow more oil to flow.

This work was performed by a Trained Factory Mechanic by Ford Motor Company. He was flown in by Ford Motor to correct this problem.  Ford's Engineering Department spent weeks trying to find a solution for this problem and this was what they came up with.

The end results was it did NOT work The knock is STILL THERE.

I have to send an updated report to the BBB Autoline Arbitrator and see what the next step is going to be. I guess at this time I am looking for FORD to buy back this vehicle or trade this vehicle out for a new one. I do not think this is asking to much. This has been going on since day one or purchase date..

Update 5/20/2011

Ford is working on replacing the camshaft in my 2011 Lincoln MKX

I got a phone call from the BBB auto Line. " Arbitrator"

5/19/2009

The BBB Auto line arbitrator  between Ford Motor Company and myself called me and told me Ford had a fix for my car. letting me know to bring the car into Findlay Lincoln Mercury for repair. He went on to say that Ford has a fix for my problem and was going to send a factory trained mecanic to Findlay to do the repairs himself.

5/20/2011

Ford Motor Company sent a factory trained mechanic to replace my camshaft and possible bearings. They told me this is where the knocking is coming from. Ford has designed a special tool to help this facotry trained mechanic replace the bad camshaft.

The car is being repaired at Findlay Lincoln Mercury. I have to say, Everybody involved in this problem has changed attatudes.

Claude Chiles Findlay service manager had a new 2011 Lincoln MKS waiting for me to use while

they were working on my car. The last time I had to GO to Enterprise car rental. That was a nightmare. I took a shuttle to Enterprise, Then waitied in line for over an hour and a half.

I am stil not excited about having my motor on my new lincoln opened up and replacing a major part " Camshaft" but I am willing to allow them to try the repairs.

5/1/2011

I got a call from Claude Chiles Jr from Findlay Lincoln Mercury.

Claude told me, Ford Engineering department found s solution to my problem.

Ford told him the problem with the engine knock when cold was due to an Upper Valve train problem. Ford has designed a new tool to correct this problem and are manufactoring it now. He also told me the good news is that they should have this new tool and will be able to fix my engine some time around Middle to end of June 2011.

We have contacted everybody we could at Ford. We have contacted Channel 3 and 13 Local news. We have contacted the Nevada Attorney Generals office and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

We continue making payments on a New Ford Lincoln MKX with a bad motor and nobody cares.

What has this country come to. It's all about money and how many politicians they can own.

I can not believe that Ford Motor Company would treat people like this. They want to know

why US Citizens purchase foreign vehicles well Hello this is why!.
