New Updated 6/22/2011
I went to Arbination yesterday. I though I was prepaired with my papers I was wrong.
I never looked at the Repair order I got from Findlay Lincoln after Ford made there modification to my engine. Ford then called Findlay and had Claude e-mail his statement. Claude said he and the Ford Mechanic started the vehicle after the modification was completed and there was no noise. That statement sealed my fate to be denied.
I watch Service Writer Ron Collins write on the repair order that he witness the enging knock was STILL there. When I went to the arbination meeting it was not on the ticket.
I went down to FIndlay Lincoln and talked with the Owner Nathen Findley and Service Manager Claude Chiles about this. I let them know I watched Ron type this information
on the invoice.
Claude then called Ron and Ron Verified he DID witness the knock in my enging after the modification was completed and did write this on the repair order. He said he wrote this information under a section called RO. come to find out this section of notes does NOT print out on the customer copy of the ticket.
New Update!
Update 6/14/2011
I have a Arbination date set for June 21st at 10am. I guess we will see
if FORD has a heart or if the BBB will make them Buy the Lincoln back.
I had to sign a form that I will not bash, attack, use foul language
during the Arbination.
Update 6/7/2011
I just talked with the BBB Autoline Arbitrator. He said FORD Refused to do anything for me at this time. We are now scheduling an Arbination meeting with FORD to make a final decision of " Buy Back" " Crush The Car" " Fix The Car" by force of the BBB Autoline Arbitrator. I choose ' Crush the freeken Car with a FORD Representative in the vehicle. Thats my Wish at this point!.
Update 5/20/2011
We have a new problem with the Lincoln now. The Transmission is not shifting right. When I go down a hill or downgrade, the transmission decides to do the breaking for me. It also wants to hold back at slow speeds. This is annoying and causing my fuel economy to go to shit! I am so tired of this car.
I have not heard anything from the BBB at this point in time I am hoping they make a buy back decision I do not want this car anymore. I would settle for a loaded Ford F150 Platinum edition otherwise buy this MKX back and call it a day.
The sad part of this whole thing is I used to Love Ford, I always and ONLY bought Ford Trucks. The was Ford is treating me at this point I dont care if Ford goes Chapter 7 or not. I have noticed that when you buy a Ford you are the hero of that moment. When you have a problem they say Steve who ? and run the other way!
Update 5/21/2011
I was called to pick up my Lincoln from Findlay Lincoln Mercury. The repairs were completed. They replaced or modified the camshaft end cap. The Ford Motor Company Mechanic cut groves into the end cap to allow more oil to flow.
This work was performed by a Trained Factory Mechanic by Ford Motor Company. He was flown in by Ford Motor to correct this problem. Ford's Engineering Department spent weeks trying to find a solution for this problem and this was what they came up with.
The end results was it did NOT work. The knock is STILL THERE.
I have to send an updated report to the BBB Autoline Arbitrator and see what the next step is going to be. I guess at this time I am looking for FORD to buy back this vehicle or trade this vehicle out for a new one. I do not think this is asking to much. This has been going on since day one or purchase date..
Update 5/20/2011
Ford is working on replacing the camshaft in my 2011 Lincoln MKX
I got a phone call from the BBB auto Line. " Arbitrator"
5/19/2009
The BBB Auto line arbitrator between Ford Motor Company and myself called me and told me Ford had a fix for my car. letting me know to bring the car into Findlay Lincoln Mercury for repair. He went on to say that Ford has a fix for my problem and was going to send a factory trained mecanic to Findlay to do the repairs himself.
5/20/2011
Ford Motor Company sent a factory trained mechanic to replace my camshaft and possible bearings. They told me this is where the knocking is coming from. Ford has designed a special tool to help this facotry trained mechanic replace the bad camshaft.
The car is being repaired at Findlay Lincoln Mercury. I have to say, Everybody involved in this problem has changed attatudes.
Claude Chiles Findlay service manager had a new 2011 Lincoln MKS waiting for me to use while
they were working on my car. The last time I had to GO to Enterprise car rental. That was a nightmare. I took a shuttle to Enterprise, Then waitied in line for over an hour and a half.
I am stil not excited about having my motor on my new lincoln opened up and replacing a major part " Camshaft" but I am willing to allow them to try the repairs.
5/1/2011
I got a call from Claude Chiles Jr from Findlay Lincoln Mercury.
Claude told me, Ford Engineering department found s solution to my problem.
Ford told him the problem with the engine knock when cold was due to an Upper Valve train problem. Ford has designed a new tool to correct this problem and are manufactoring it now. He also told me the good news is that they should have this new tool and will be able to fix my engine some time around Middle to end of June 2011.
We have contacted everybody we could at Ford. We have contacted Channel 3 and 13 Local news. We have contacted the Nevada Attorney Generals office and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
We continue making payments on a New Ford Lincoln MKX with a bad motor and nobody cares.
What has this country come to. It's all about money and how many politicians they can own.
I can not believe that Ford Motor Company would treat people like this. They want to know
why US Citizens purchase foreign vehicles well Hello this is why!.
